Two Singapore bunker suppliers give up MPA licence

Two Singapore bunker suppliers give up MPA licence
Singapore: Two Singapore bunker suppliers have dropped off the Singapore list of accredited bunker suppliers who own official government licences to sell marine fuels within the port.

Hir Huat Trading and Sanko Oil are no longer listed in the accredited bunker suppliers database managed by the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore (MPA).

Hir Huat Trading, which has close business ties with another two companies Prestige Marine Services and Gas Trade, chose not to renew the licence which had expired. Sanko Oil's licence was also not renewed by MPA.

Following the exit of the two companies, the total number of accredited bunker suppliers in Singapore stood at 73 as at 8 October 2012.

Other suppliers who had dropped off the list this year included Prestige Marine Services, Gas Trade, Bakri Trading Co (Asia), Ocean Energy Bunkering, and Winbuild Petrofin.
