Technip and Farstad cooperated on the design of the vessel at Vard Design in Ålesund, Norway. Once delivered, the vessel will fulfil a five-year framework agreement between Technip Norge and Farstad for ROV support, light construction work, inspection, maintenance and repair and other subsea activities.
The VARD 3 17 design ship will have a total length of 98 m and a beam of 21.5 m, with a layout to accommodate two ROVs and a150 ton active heave compensated crane.
The ship is expected to be delivered from Vard's Vung Tau yard in Vietnam in Q4 2016.
