Hanoi: Vietnam Shipbuilding Industry Group plans to spend 19.6 trillion Dong ($1.2bn) to buy and build six ropax vessels to start a passenger and cargo sea service from the country's north to south, the Vietnam News reported, without saying where it got the information.
Vietnam Shipbuilding, known as Vinashin, will sell bonds and borrow money to help finance the project, the report said. [2/7/08]
