Westports calls for more landside infrastructure

Westports calls for more landside infrastructure
Still reeling from the news that the P3 alliance will be dropping some services to its terminals, Westports Holdings is calling on the Malaysian government will build more roads and bridges in Port Klang and Pulau Indah, local media reports said.

Looking ahead to the 2014 Budget, Westports said it hoped the government would also build another link between Westport and Northport, and upgrade the existing road from two lanes to three.

There are currently two highways to Port Klang and one major road and a bridge connecting both Westport and Northport. The increase in usage has caused congestion, according to Westports ceo Ruben Gnanalingam.

"We hope that there will be more investments to build roads and bridges, not just for the operators in Port Klang but also for the people living there," he was quoted as saying.
