DNV GL appoints new president of maritime business

DNV GL appoints new president of maritime business
DNV GL have appointed Knut Ørbeck-Nilssen as the new president of its maritime business, after GL head Erik Van Der Noordaa quit after just three months in the role.

Ørbeck-Nilssen was previously DNV GL’s director of Division Europe, Africa & Americas for its maritime business, and has worked for DNV since 1990.

“I am really pleased to have Knut Ørbeck-Nilssen on board in this role. He has more than 20 years of experience from a variety of disciplines. I look forward to develop DNV GL’s maritime business area together with him and all the other highly competent people in our organisation,” Tor Svensen, ceo of DNV GL Maritime.

Ørbeck-Nilssen will start in the new role on 1 January and will be based in Hamburg.
