Fleet and revenue growth at Bourbon in 2013
Bourbon has reported a 10.5% increase in revenues in 2013 on the back of a growing fleet and improving day rates.

The French offshore outfit's totalled EUR1.3bn ($1.7bn) in revenues with the deepwater division contributing EUR391.6m, shallow water adding EUR376m and their crew boat segment contributing EUR297.2m. The largest revenue growth was from subsea services, where a EUR223.3m result marked a 17.5% year on year improvement.

Fleet growth across the entire group was 5.9%, adding 27 vessels to end the year with a fleet of 485.

"2013 revenues of more than EUR1.3bn, a complete range of 485 vessels with an average age of 6.2 years and the broad geographical reach of its activities makes Bourbon a leader in the offshore marine services industry", said Christian Lefèvre, ceo. "Stability of utilization rates and a positive trend in annual average daily rates are solid fundamentals in a context of continued fleet growth with 38 new vessel deliveries for a net increase in the fleet of 27 vessels in 2013.

"Bourbon continues its focus on operational excellence and debt reduction via the 'transforming for beyond' action plan. The asset smart portion of this action plan is progressing well with the sale and bareboat charter of 24 vessels during 2013, the proceeds from which are primarily aimed at reducing debt."

Looking at the market's prospects, the company acknowledged a general trend of increasing demand, although a large number of deepwater PSV deliveries could put pressure on the spot market in that sector.
