The ship, which will be built at the group's Braila yard in Romania, will be delivered in the third quarter of 2014 and follows a run of five icebreaking tugs built for CMI at the same yard.
Vard ceo and executive director, Roy Reite commented, "we look forward to building yet another vessel to Circle Maritime Invest JSC. This new contract gives evidence of the good relationship we have with our customer in Kazakhstan. Together with CMI, we are excited to follow the development of the offshore activity in the Caspian Sea."
The 46 m vessel will have a beam of 13 m, accommodation for 22 crew, and will be deployed in the Caspian.
