Shanghai International Port Group (SIPG) and Ant Group have inked cooperation agreement to develop intelligent ports.

According to the agreement, the two parties will jointly research and promote building port and shipping alliance supply chain for cross-connection with other port and shipping networks. As well as promoting blockchain usage for the port and shipping ecosystem.

Gu Jinshan, chairman of SIPG said the cooperation with Ant would further promote innovative development and digital transformation of port and shipping logistics, as well as smart port, which could better service the upgrading of the industry.

Ant will support top industry players such as SIPG on asset digitalization and establish closer cooperation with financial organizations in the coming twenty years, said Jiang Guofei, deputy president of Ant.

“The win-win co-operation between SIPG and Ant will be a new model for digital upgrading of global intelligent port based on blockchain,” Jiang added.

Ant Group, creating infrastructure and platform to support the digital transformation of the service industry, has been actively working with Chinese ports to promote intelligent technology in recent times.
