Guangzhou and Jiangsu ports team up for logistics development

The east Chinese port of Guangzhou and the southern Chinese port of Jiangsu have inked strategic cooperation framework agreement to jointly develop shipping and logistics services.

According to the agreement, the two parties will jointly explore new collaboration model for Great Bay Area and Yangtze river economic belt region to improve port services and expand collaborative areas.

Relying on the Pearl and Yangzte rivers, Guangzhou port and Jiangsu port are two major container handling ports in China

With the operation of an express shipping service between Nanjing, Jiangsu province and Guangzhou, Guangdong province, the two ports have maintained a close partnership on shipping and logistics services, as well as the green intelligent port development. 

In the first half of this year, Jiangsu Port Group posted a cargo throughput of 1.65 billion tons and a container volume of 12 million teu, an increase of 6% and 6.9% year-on-year, respectively. Cargo throughput and container volume of Guangzhou port was 315.9 million tons and 12.14 million teu, growing 3.1% and 3.4%.
