We have covered a lot over the last month about the impact of the Shanghai lockdown on shipping, ports, logistics and shipyards. But just what is life like if the ship you work on has got stranded in a Shanghai shipyard mid-repair job?

Madeleine Wolczko, 2nd Mate on a US-flagged containership has taken to YouTube to document the trials, tribulations, and unexpected joys of vegetable deliveries during the uncertainties of a lockdown stranded far from home.

Restricted to Ship tells of life from the crew’s perspective of containership that started repair work in Changxiang Shipyard on 21 February only to be plunged into a lockdown on 23 March.

The first episode of Restricted to Ship can be viewed above. Below we have also included an interview with Madeleine Wolczko by shipping YouTuber – What is Going on with Shipping? by Sal Mercogliano. Thanks to Sal for flagging up these videos.
