Scorpio Tankers sells one vessel, takes up purchase options on five others

NYSE-listed Scorpio Tankers sold one product tanker and taken up purchase options on five others.

Scorpio Tankers has sold the 2015-built, MR product tanker, STI Tribeca for $39.1 million with the transaction expected to close in the first quarter of the year.

Meanwhile the company has exercised purchase options on five leased tankers. The vessels involved are a 2015 built MR product tanker STI Westminster and four 2014-built Handymax product tankers STI Brixton, STI Comandante, STI Pimlico and STI Finchley.

The purchase of the five vessels is expected to be executed in the first half of 2024 and reduce Scorpio Tankers debt by $61.1 million.
