Starting without interruption to the current Amerigo service, the new service, deploying a fleet of 6 vessels operated exclusively by CMA CGM, will leave Livorno on 2 October on the westbound route, and New York on 20 October on the eastbound route.
The new weekly call at Victory Bridge will provide a “smooth transhipment operation” serving Mexico, connecting the ports of Malta, Livorno, Genoa, Fos-sur-mer, Barcelona, Valencia (WB), New York, Norfolk and Savannah with Miami, and from then on to Tangiers and Valencia (EB) before returning to Malta in a 42-day loop.
In a statement, CMA CGM indicated that having full control of vessel operations would result in an “an optimised vessel planning, allowing more opportunities in terms of Out-of-gauge, breakbulk, IMO and reefer commodities; excellent coverage of West Mediterranean countries, as well as an extension to Florida and an opening to the Mexican market via Miami,” and “a high standard of schedule reliability.”
