UANI take aim again at Victor Restis over Iran business links

UANI take aim again at Victor Restis over Iran business links
US lobby group United Against Nuclear Iran (UANI) has again turned the spotlight of Greek shipping magnate Victor Restis.

Renewing pressure on Restis UANI called on the Greek shipowner to confirm that a vessel Helvetia One owned by Enterprise Shipping and Trading (EST) was docked in Bandar Imam Khomeini, Iran and state the nature of its business at the Iranian port.

Also asking EST president George Sarris to confirm the activities of the vessel UANI said it was not the first time that the Helvetia One had called in Iran, having made visits in 2012 and 2013. UANI said the Helvetia One had sailed from Santos, Brazil via Fujairah and Khor Fakkan to Bandar Imam Khomeini.

Mark Wallace ceo of UANI said: “Victor Restis and EST must once and for all fully and transparently account for their extensive Iran dealings. We call on Mr Restis to answer a simple question: Will you admit - finally - that you and your shipping company EST do business in Iran, despite your previous public statements?”

Wallace also called on Restis to end all and any business relationships with Iran.

It is not the first time that Restis and UANI have clashed and last year the Greek shipowner headed to the Greek courts alleging libel by UANI over its allegations of business dealings with Iran.
