Asia lines to launch new service
Seoul: Hanjin Shipping and Coscon announced on Wednesday the launching of a new service in the Far East-Gulf of Mexico.

The new service, named All Water Gulf of Mexico (AWT) or Gulf of Mexico Express (GME) for Coscon, will commence on 28 April and be operated by eight vessels of 4,000 teu. Hanjin Shipping will deploy two and Coscon will provide six.

The port rotation is Busan, Shanghai (Waigaoqiao Terminal), Ningbo, Xiamen, Yantian, Panama Canal, Colon, Houston, Panama Canal, and back to Busan.

“This new service will cover the Gulf of Mexico and the southern part of the US (Houston area) including the Caribbean Sea region offering wide service coverage with feeder network,” Hanjin Shipping said in a statement.

“Meanwhile, it will also offer very attractive transit times; 24 days from Yantian to Houston, the fastest transit time in the market and only 27 days from East China to Houston,” it added.
