The contract is worth a total of about $75m for the construction of two floating production support vessels and a platform support vessel, according to shipbuilder and charterer ASL Marine.
Singapore-listed ASL Marine expects to deliver two more vessels to Mermaid Marine Australia at the end of this year and the second quarter of 2013, respectively.
The offshore vessel, Mermaid Strait, launched from a yard in Singapore, is due to sail in the next few weeks for a multi-year contract with Woodside Petroleum off Western Australia.
ASL Marine, which prides itself as a vertically integrated marine company, is growing its offshore topside fabrication facilities, and FPSO/FSO conversion and repair services, on top of its core shipbuilding business.
