The port handled 759,760 teu of transhipment cargoes and 749,875m teu of import/export cargoes in September, increasing 9.2% and 4.4% respectively compared to the previous year.

On the first nine months of this year, Busan port registered a total throughput of 13.7m teu.

BPA noted that the monthly throughput at the port has maintained at a 1.5m teu level for seven consecutive months since the monthly volume surpassed 1.6m teu in March this year.

Last year, Busan port posted an annual throughput of 17.69m teu, making it the fifth busiest container port worldwide. The BPA is aiming to move 18.2m teu this year.
