CKYH Alliance restructures East Mediterranean services

Hong Kong: CKYH Alliance member lines Coscon, "K" Line and Yang Ming (YML) are to begin an East Mediterranean Service, EMX, in mid-March, 2007. The new service is designed to target the Israel/Greece market from Fareast base ports and enlarge market coverage through hub ports. It will be operated by seven 3000teu type vessels, four of which will be provided by Coscon, two by YML and the last by "K" Line.

CKYH will also upgrade the 1400teu vessels currently servicing the major Turkish ports through the Aegean Sea Direct Express (ADX) to 2000teu class vessels. Among the six vessels, YML will provide four vessels and Coscon will provide two vessels.

The EMX service (7 x 3000teu) will follow the rotation: Shanghai - Ningbo - Hong Kong - Shekou - Singapore - Ashdod - Piraeus - Thessaloniki - Singapore - Hong Kong - Shanghai.

The new ADX service (6x2000teu) will follow the rotation:  Hong Kong - Singapore - Istanbul - Haydarpasa - Gemlik - Izmir - Singapore - Hong Kong.  [29/01/07]
