Epic Gas exercises option for two more gas carriers

Epic Gas exercises option for two more gas carriers
Epic Gas has exercised an option to build two additional 11,000 cu m gas carriers at Japan-based Kyokuyo Shipyard Corporation.

In December last year, Singapore-headquartered Epic Gas had ordered a pair of the fully-pressurised gas carriers at the Japanese shipyard.

“With these latest additions we continue to grow our fleet with the largest vessels in the pressurised segment,” said Lars Vang Christensen, ceo of Epic Gas.

The two newbuildings are scheduled for delivery in the second half of 2016 and in the first quarter of 2017.

The latest order will bring Epic Gas' count of similar-sized newbuilds to six vessels including two ships to be chartered in from Kumiai Senpaku.
