Evergreen turns red
Taipei: Taiwan lines Evergreen Marine sank into the red after posting a massive net loss in 2011, reversing from a net profit position in the previous year.

Evergreen slumped to a net loss of NT$3.09bn ($104.7m) last year as against a net profit of NT$15.17bn in 2010.

Revenue for the year dipped to NT$15.36bn from NT$17.03bn a year earlier.

Taipei-listed Evergreen managed to lower its operating expenses to NT$1.51bn compared to NT$1.69bn a year ago.
