JES books four shipbuilding options worth $212m
Chinese shipbuilder JES International has added options to its orderbook for the construction of four newcastlemax bulk carriers worth approximately $212m.

The option is signed with an European customer who ordered four similar vessels worth about $240m on 28 February.

Jiangsu East Marine Engineering, wholly-owned by JES, will deliver the vessels under the option, if exercised, after 2016.

JES has also recently announced a planned placement of up to 50m new ordinary shares worth SGD7.23m ($5.69m) to help strengthen the company's capital base.
