Klaveness declares shipbuilding options for three bulkers
Klaveness Shipping has exercised shipbuilding options to build three bulk carriers at two different Chinese shipyards.

Klaveness Shipping, subsidiary of Klaveness Ship Holding, has declared an option to construct one 80,500 dwt combination bulk carrier at Zhejiang Ouhua Shipbuilding.

This puts the total number of orders for combination carrier at Zhejiang Ouhua to three vessels. The third vessel is estimated to be delivered in January 2017.

Klaveness Shipping further exercised an option to build two 82,000 dwt kamsarmaxes at Jiangsu Yangzijiang Shipbuilding, and has resold the contract for one of the vessels to an external party. The same party has also acquired one of the sister vessels ordered by Klaveness Shipping in 2013.

Yangzijiang had earlier announced a bumper order of thirteen 82,000 dwt bulkers, with Klaveness Shipping as the buyer of two units.

The newbuilding programme of Klaveness Shipping now consists of eight vessels, where the company owns two of the vessels, one with delivery in 2015 and the other in 2016.
