Copenhagen: Maersk Line has announced a general rate increase effective 15 February 2010 in the Europe to South Asia/Middle East trade. "The trading conditions for the carriers operating in these markets are still subject to unacceptable rate levels and the situation is unsustainable in the longer term," the Danish giant said by way of explanation. "The rate increase is necessary to continue to operate our services with the high level of reliability our customers have come to expect from Maersk Line."
The filed increase is as follows:
SCOPE - North Europe and Mediterranean to Middle East and South Asia
AMOUNT - USD 100/200 per 20'/40'
COMMODITIES - DRY only
EFFECTIVE DATE - 15 February 2010 [12/01/10]
