MISC crawls back to better results
Malaysia's MISC Bhd continued on the road to recovery as better revenues from its LNG and chemical tanker businesses helped the group turn in a first half net profit of MYR671.6m turning around from a MYR17.8m loss in the previous corresponding period.

First half group revenue rose 2.1% to MYR4.66bn from MYR4.57bn revenue for the first half of 2012. The increase in Group revenue were primarily due to higher revenue in LNG business following lease commencement of two FSUs in August 2012, better heavy engineering segment business from commencement of new projects and chemical business from higher freight rates, MISC said in a stock market announcement.
