Dubai: A special celebration took place for the inaugural call of the 5,888teu OOCL Dubai in her namesake port, attended by various UAE dignitaries, OOCL toppers and the Consul General of the PRC in Dubai. The vessel is the first deployed on OOCL's new Middle East-Asia Express Service (MAX). Michael Kwok, OOCL's director for Intra-Asia trade, called the new service 'a long term investment', and Giovanni Yu, md of OOCL (UAE), called both it and the vessel's name choice 'our way of showing OOCL's commitment to serving the growing transportation and logistics needs of the region.'
