Singapore-headquartered Epic appointed Buttery as chairman of the board, along with fellow Pacific Basin founder Paul Over as a director, as well appointing Japanese shipbroker Ryoji Mochizuki to the board.
“With strong support from our new shareholders, with whom we have worked so successfully in the past in building Pacific Basin, I believe Epic is very well positioned for growth and to create shareholder value going forward,” said Buttery, taking up the role of chairman.
Epic operates a fleet of 25 LPG carriers, and has six LPG carriers of between 3,500 and 5,000 c um on order from Japanese shipyards, Sasaki Shipyard and Kitanihon Shipyard.
The company said it would be seeking to further expand its “fleet and had entered into a dialogue with a leading shipyard”. The shipowner did not reveal how many newbuildings it was looking at ordering.
