Petronas awards FLNG EPCIC contract to Technip-Daewoo consortium
Kuala Lumpur: Petroliam Nasional Bhd (Petronas), through its special purpose unit Petronas Floating LNG 1 (L) Ltd,  has awarded the EPCIC contract for Malaysia's first FLNG project to a foreign consortium comprising Technip France S.A, Technip Geoproduction (M) Sdn Bhd and Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering Co Ltd.

The value of the contract was not disclosed.

The floating facility is scheduled to be ready for start-up by the end of 2015 and is to be moored 180km off the coast of Bintulu, Sarawak. It is designed to produce 1.2 million tonnes a year of LNG.
