Petronas joins the FLNG bandwagon
Kuala Lumpur: Petroliam Nasional (Petronas) announced plans to build Malaysia's first floating liquefied natural gas (LNG) terminal by 2015 to meet increasing future demand.

No firm plans for the location or investment amount were made together with the announcement however. Petronas acting chairman, president and chief executive officer Shamsul Azhar Abbas added that the state-owned national oil company is also studying plans to build a new regasification terminal each in Johor and Sabah also by 2015.

The facilities are being developed ahead of an anticipated shortfall of supply in Peninsular Malaysia.
