Qingdao port a top ten contender

Shanghai: The Port of Qingdao in Shandong province in China exceeded annual container throughput of nine million teu  on December 13, 2007, likely throwing it into the list of top ten boxports globally.

Neat tie ups this year with nearby Weihai and Rizhao ports have helped shoot throughput up a staggering 44% year-on-year.  [17/12/07]
