Sembcorp Marine wins jack-up rig contract
Singapore: Sembcorp Marine's subsidiary PPL Shipyard secured a $208m contract to build a jack-up drilling rig for Perisai (L) Inc, with an option to construct an additional similar unit priced at $210m.

The delivery for the confirmed jack-up drilling rig is scheduled at the end of July 2014 and the optional rig is planned for delivery in the second quarter of 2015.

The Pacific Class 400 rig is capable of operating in water depths of 400 feet and drilling to depths of 30,000 feet.

“This unit represents the 8th unit of the Pacific Class 400 series since the launch in 2010,” said Benety Chang, deputy chairman of PPL Shipyard.
