Hong Kong: SITC Development has ordered a trio of feeder boxships from Dae Sun Shipbuilding and Engineering. The Hong Kong-listed company has ordered one 953 teu and a pair of 1,040 teu containerships from the South Korean yard at a total cost of $57.3m. The vessels are due to be delivered between the end of 2011 and the end of 2012. SITC said the new vessels would allow it to expand its self-owned fleet to meet the increased demand for its services.
