The South Korean conglomerate will build two 6,500 cubic metres LPG carriers in Busan and deliver them to a Greek owner by the second quarter of 2014.
STX also inked a deal to construct two 50,000 dwt oil tankers in Jinhae for delivery by the second quarter of 2013.
The company added that it had signed a letter of intent with a domestic client to build two LPG carriers and with a Middle East client on building a vessel to carry liquefied ethylene. The deal in the making is valued at about $430m.
As of late April, STX won contracts worth $2.2bn, representing 6.8% of its target sales of $15bn for this year.
