Troms Offshore and Statoil have agreed to charter the vessel. The contract for the design and construction of the PSV is expected to be entered into by the end of June 2012.
The 5,700 tonnes vessel is scheduled for delivery in the fourth-quarter of 2013 from STX OSV in Norway.
“The vessel will be a clean class environmentally friendly diesel electric ship with focus on low fuel consumption and low emission of greenhouse gases,” STX OSV said in a statement.
