STX OSV wins offshore vessel contract

STX OSV wins offshore vessel contract
Singapore: STX OSV won a contract valued at NOK1.4bn ($233.9m) for the design and construction of an offshore subsea construction vessel for Ocean Installer and Solstad Offshore.

Ocean Installer and Solstad will have joint ownership of the vessel, which is to be operated by Ocean Installer. The vessel is slated for delivery from STX OSV Norway in the second-quarter of 2014.

The vessel will be designed to operate under demanding conditions and is well fitted for SURF (subsea, umbilicals, risers, flowlines) operations.
