Yang Ming books heavy losses
Taipei: Container line Yang Ming booked a huge net loss in the first quarter ended 31 March 2012.

The Taiwanese shipping line posted a net loss of NT$5.39bn ($184.63m), a plunge from a net profit of NT$119.96m.

Revenue during the quarter was stable at NT$21.29bn compared to NT$22.9bn in the same period of 2011.

Yang Ming also revealed a heavy operating loss of NT$6.38bn compared to a loss of NT$526.76m a year ago.
