Ocean Network Express (ONE) is launching a new service connecting the West Coast of South America to the East Coast of North America (Florida).

The new service dubbed FLX will be launched in September 2023 and aims to cater to customers looking for reliable South American reefer container shipments. Latin American reefer container transportation has nearly doubled over the past few years.

“To further improve the quality of our transportation services, we are redoubling our efforts by investing in state-of-the-art equipment, including Control Atmosphere (CA) containers and telematics devices,” said ONE in a statement.

The new FLX service aims to offer fresh options to customers, including those previously engaged in Asia-bound shipments, while expanding shipping possibilities and streamlining supply chain processes.

Yu Kurimoto, Managing Director of ONE said, "We aim to share South America’s distinctive flavors with people across the globe. With our FLX and LUX services, we are excited to open new doors for businesses and individuals, enabling them to enjoy the authentic tastes of this vibrant region.”

It will deploy four vessels to ensure schedule stability for refrigerated cargo. This service will connect Callao and Paita (Peru), and Guayaquil (Ecuador) to South Florida with one of the fastest transit times on the market. The direct routes include Callao-South Florida in 11 days, Paita-South Florida in 9 days, and Guayaquil-South Florida in 8 days.
