Diana Shipping spends $28.8m on new kamsarmax

Diana Shipping spends $28.8m on new kamsarmax
Diana Shipping has ordered a 82,000-dwt kamsarmax dry bulk carrier at $28.8m from China-based Yangzhou Dayang Shipbuilding.

The newbuilding is expected to be delivered during the second quarter of 2016, according to Diana Shipping.

Diana Shipping is also awaiting the deliveries of two newbuilding ice-class panamax bulkers during the first quarter of 2014, and two newbuilding newcastlemaxes during the second quarter of 2016.

The shipping firm's current fleet consists of 36 bulkers with a combined carrying capacity of approximately 4.1m dwt.
