Klaus Nyborg interim ceo for Norden after Mortensen's surprise move to BW
Former Pacific Basin boss Klaus Nyborg has been appointed interim ceo of Norden as the company searches for a replacement for Carsten Mortensen.

Norden expressed its regret when its ceo announced he was leaving to take the group ceo position at BW Group last week. Mortensen will be "available to Norden for a period of time" according to a press release today.

Nyborg resigned as ceo of Hong Kong-based Pacific Basin in March 2012 to relocate with his family to Denmark and has been a member of the board at Norden since 2012. Currently vice chairman of the board, Nyborg has announced that he will not be in the running for the new ceo position.

"Norden is a strong company, and I am pleased that the board of directors has estimated that I, with my experience, can contribute to securing further development for a period of time. I have stressed to the board that I am not a candidate for the position," stated Nyborg.

Chairman of Norden, Mogens Hugo commented: "I am pleased that Klaus Nyborg will take up the position as interim ceo for a period of time and take on the task of managing the business in cooperation with the other members of the executive management. Klaus Nyborg has considerable experience within both of Norden's segments, dry cargo and tankers, and thorough knowledge of the company through his work as vice chairman of the board."
