P&I provider the Swedish Club is expanding its presence in London with a full service office.

The announcement of the Club’s expansion in the UK capital was made by Swedish Club Managing Director Thomas Nordberg at reception held during London International Shipping Week (LISW).

“A key focus for 2023 has been the strengthening of our regional offerings, and I am pleased to say that our development plans for the growing London office are well in hand,” Nordberg told gathering at Fishmongers’ Hall.

The Club’s London office was established in 2015.

“London is an important business centre boasting a deep pool of underwriters, brokers, and legal experts, with a reputation for fostering innovation and setting industry standards. We are developing a full-service office to enable us to build even stronger relationships with our existing clients and forge new partnerships within this vibrant business community. Our new, larger premises will accommodate this expansion,” Norberg said.

The current head of the London office Lars Nilsson, who established it in 2015, is set for a new role as advisor to Norberg. Taking up the helm in London later this year will be Tord Nilsson.

“We have had a presence in London for eight years, and are now building on that commitment and working towards delivering underwriting and claims services to owners and brokers from the new location,” he said.
