Live from Posidonia 2018

The Seatrade Maritime reporting team bring you all the key stories in the run-up to, and live on the ground during, Posidonia 2018, the international shipping exhibition with the largest gathering of Greek and international shipowners.

EMAC marks Year of Zayed at Posidonia 2018

The Emirates Maritime Arbitration Centre (EMAC) attended Posidonia 2018 as part of a Dubai team that will be taking part in a number of important local and international events during the current ‘year of Zayed’ – marking the centenary of the birth of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, the Founding Father of the UAE, who passed away in 2004.

“Posidonia is no doubt one of the biggest and most influential maritime events on the shipping calendar,” said Majid Obaid bin Bashir, acting chairman and secretary general of EMAC. “It provides a platform for the entire maritime community worldwide to come together to discuss trends and share the views of some of the world biggest Greek shipowning concerns.”

“Our participation in this major event, as part of the Dubai Maritime Cluster, helps us spread the word about EMAC and the benefits of alternative dispute resolution,” he added.

As well as showcasing the Centre’s “commitment to delivering a trusted global standard for maritime arbitration services,” it helps EMAC in “keeping up with the pace of change and how we can adapt our services accordingly.”
