The two parties have agreed to jointly work on the development and construction of the most competitive LNG carrier and explore more cooperation opportunities in LNG sector.
China has strong demand in LNG, the LNG transportation has a great development prospect here. The future of LNG is in China, said an official from Qatargas.
Qatargas launched a tender for up to 100 LNG carrier newbuildings last April.
Hudong-Zhonghua is the leading LNG carrier builder in China, which has delivered 22 large-size LNG carriers. The company consists of one headquarter in Pudong of Shanghai, and three shipyards in nearby region.
