CSSC moves headquarters from Beijing to Shanghai

China’s largest shipbuilding corporation China State Shipbuilding Corporation (CSSC) has relocated its headquarters from Beijing to Shanghai.

Lei Fanpei, chairman of CSSC, said, Relocating our headquarters to Shanghai would accelerate CSSC's development into one of the world's leading shipbuilding groups. Unique advantages of Shanghai would speed up CSSCs goal to be developed as a world-class shipbuilder.

"Shanghai takes the relocation of CSSC as an opportunity to deepen the strategic collaboration between Shanghai and CSSC, Shanghai government will fully support CSSC's development in Shanghai, said Gong Zheng, Mayor of Shanghai.

Shanghai is China's largest economic center, CSSC's relocation to Shanghai will promote the high-quality development of China's shipbuilding industry, said Hao Peng, chairman of Chinas State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission.

CSSC currently has over a hundred units and scientific research institutes, some of its major shipbuilding units, such as Hudong Zhonghua Shipbuilding and Jiangnan Shipyard, are all based in Shanghai.
