The subsidiary of Malaysia-based international offshore oil field services provider Bumi Armada announced that the contract comes with an extension of a further four years, putting the total value of the contract at approximately RM115m ($37.4m). The contract is expected to be effective by the second quarter of 2012.
The 3,000 tonnes PSV with DP2 capability will support operations with multi-purpose functions of transporting cargo between platforms, rescue and personnel transfer for Petrobras in the Brazilian continental shelf.
“This is our third contract with Petrobras following close on the heels of the recent contract for our Armada Tuah 102 which is now in Brazil,” said Hassan Basma, executive director and ceo of Bumi Armada.
