COSL orders three offshore drilling platforms

COSL orders three offshore drilling platforms
China Oilfield Services Limited (COSL) has signed an agreement with Dalian Shipbuilding Industry Offshore and China Merchants Heavy Industry to build three offshore drilling platforms.

The three units of drilling platforms are scheduled to be delivered respectively in September and October 2015, and August 2016.

Li Yong, ceo of COSL, said the three newbuildings are expected to further enhance the company's capabilities in offshore deepwater services.

COSL, a subsidiary of state-owned China National Offshore Oil Corporation (CNOOC), believes that more technologically sound offshore equipment will be increasingly needed as offshore oil and gas exploration moves further out to deeper waters and harsher environment.
