Hanjin Shipping to welcome large post-panamax
Seoul: Hanjin Shipping will welcome on 1 April the first of five large post-panamax vessels it ordered in June 2011.

The 13,000 teu Hanjin Sooho, built by Hyundai Heavy Industries, will be deployed on the NE6 joint Asia-Europe service operated by Green Alliance of Cosco, K Line, Hanjin Shipping and Yang Ming.

The second and third ship, Hanjin Asia and Hanjin Europe, will be delivered on 15 April and 6 May respectively. All three ships will replace vessels averaging 9,000 teu on the NE6 loop that will flow over to other trade lanes.

By the middle of March, the existing average weekly capacity of the NE6 service will increase to 11,050 teu from 9,300 teu.

The port rotation of NE6 starting 1 April will be Tianjin, Kwangyang, Busan, Shanghai, Singapore, Algeciras, Hamburg, Rotterdam, Le Havre, Algeciras, Singapore, Hong Kong and back to Tianjin.
