The South Korean shipbuilder said the new contract will account for 9.5% of its recent revenue, with due deliveries by 31 August 2014.
The latest order will bring SHI's contracted overall in excess of KRW4trn or $3.8bn year-to-date. The company has set itself a 2012 sales target of $13.4bn.
Meanwhile, US-based Pacific Drilling said last Wednesday that its affiliated company will postpone the expiration date for a deepsea drillship option by 2 March this year. The vessel is scheduled to be delivered by 17 May 2014.
