Sinopacific lands order for up to four bulkers
Sinopacific Shipbuilding Group has bagged contracts to build two 82,000 dwt dry bulk carriers with an option for two additional similar vessels for Shandong Bohi Industry Co.

The Crown MHI 82 design bulkers will be built in Yangzhou Dayang Shipbuilding and deliveries are scheduled from the second half of 2016.

“As a shipbuilder focusing on technical prowess and innovation, we have always maintained an open mindset for working together with shipowners to create a winning partnership,” said Jiang Qiang, co-ceo of Sinopacific.

Cereal and oil trading and processing firm Bohi Industry owns a fleet of vessels which were mostly built at Japanese shipyards. Sinopacific said Bohi selected the Crown MHI 82 design based on the vessel's features and the yard's proven record for construction and deliveries.

The first order for the Crown MHI 82 was secured in May 2013 and prior to this latest contract, the orderbook already stood at 10 + 4 vessels, according to Sinopacific.
