CDB Leasing acquiring 16 newbuild bulkers

China Development Bank Financial Leasing (CDB Leasing) is to acquire 16 bulk carriers at a total cost of CNY688m ($107m).

The bulk carriers are being constructed by Penglai Zhongbai Jinglu Ship Industry and Huanghai Shipbuilding respectively. 

Eight vessels are expected to be delivered in November 2021, the other eight will be delivered in December 2021.

CDB Leasing has made massive investments into vessel purchase this year, mainly including bulk carriers and chemical tankers. The new transaction will further increase the market share of the company in vessel market.
