The two parties aim to jointly develop new-energy automobile supply chain, new energy, green shipping and technology innovation, as well as the revitalisation of the northeast China and promote high-quality development.
“Currently, China Merchants and BYD have developed extensive cooperation on communications, logistics, vessel construction, vehicle detection and financing sectors. We are going to deepen our collaboration and achieve a win-win situation,” said Miao Jianmin, chairman of China Merchants Group.
“We are expecting to explore and build new development structure for the industry and enhance the industry chain and supply chain resilience,” commented Wang Chuanfu, chairman of BYD, currently, BYD a leading electric automobile manufacturer.
“We urgently need support from logistics, shipbuilding and shipping sectors which are the advantages of China Merchants. The cooperation with China Merchants will accelerate BYD’s automobile exports,” Wang added.
At the end of 2022, BYD ordered four 9,400 ceu LNG dual-fuel car carriers from two shipyards under China Merchants Group, which are due for delivery starting from 2025.
