German vessel broking company Arkona Allied Container is to build ten containerships at China’s Dajin Heavy Industry and Qingdao Yangfan Shipyard.

The vessels are expected to have low bunker consumption and will be fitted for shore power, as well as being methanol ready and equipped for carbon capture storage.

According to Arkona Allied Container, its owner partners HS Schiffahrt, HP Wegener, Reederei Jüngerhans, Reederei Wessels and Visser Shipping had placed the orders for the vessels at the two Chinese shipyards.

The newbuildings are due for delivery throughout 2025 and 2026.
