Teluk Lamong terminal to be ready by August
Indonesia's Pelabuhan Indonesia III (Pelindo III) says that it plans to commence operations at its Teluk Lamong Multipurpose Terminal in East Java in August, helping to ease congestion at the current East Java hub port of Tanjung Perak, local reports said.

The $294m project has entered the last phase of development and is 90% complete the terminal's president-director Prasetyadi was quoted as saying.

“We are only waiting for a supply of electricity from PT PLN," he said. "We are aiming to accommodate 1.5m teu in the first phase of development," Pelindo III spokesman Edi Priyanto added.Elaborating on the set-up for Teluk Lamong, Prasetyadi said it will cater to large ships while the old Tanjung Perak Port will handle containers from smaller ships.
